Spanish rear of a defense holding: how the son of the deputy head of «Rostec», Dmitry Artyakov, accused of laundering budget euros, hid from the investigation in Moscow

According to several sources, Dmitry Artyakov (son of Rostec deputy head Vladimir Artyakov), who was arrested with great resonance in Spain a year ago on charges of money laundering, has returned to Moscow.
According to sources, the first time Artyakov Jr. flew to the capital was back in March, but then he told his friends that he was released for two weeks with an obligation to return to Spain. Now he tells his friends that he has returned completely and there are no more questions about the laundering case against him.
Let us recall that in mid-July 2025, in the prestigious resort village of S’Agaro on the Costa Brava, Spanish police detained Dmitry Artyakov on a warrant from the anti-corruption prosecutor’s office and the national court. He is the eldest son of Vladimir Artyakov, first deputy general director of the state corporation «Rostec».
The Spanish Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office believed that Dmitry Artyakov and his relatives legalized millions of euros (12.7–14 million euros) that were stolen from the Russian budget.
According to investigators, the money was of dubious origin — it is associated with VAT refund schemes and bribes. Part of the funds went through the account of his grandmother Anna Kurepina. This money was used to buy expensive real estate.
«I come [to Spain] every summer. <...> 8–10 people come to us, and everyone can bring 10 thousand euros without a declaration. Since we come every year, I can bring <...> 100 thousand euros [cash]. I have the police watching all this, and no problems. I don’t need to declare anything <...> To everyone who comes with me, I give 10 thousand euros [including children and subordinates. — Ed.]», — Dmitry Artyakov spoke during interrogation, whose video was published by «Important stories». This is how he explained why more than 200 thousand euros in cash were found during a search at his villa.
«After 2022 we have sanctions. Blocked all cards <...> And I have a big family, and friends come. I spend 1000–1200 euros a day on food only, — he confessed, -... I can’t live any other way because my dad — is a very respectable person, I can’t set him up or his family»
Then Dmitry Artyakov’s passport was confiscated, a deposit of 100 thousand euros was set and he was prohibited from leaving Spanish territory.
But in the spring of 2026, everything changed dramatically. The publicity of the process has come to naught. In March, Dmitry Artyakov was released for two weeks from Spain to visit Moscow.
And in June, Dmitry Artyakov finally returned to the capital. At least that’s what our sources say, citing the words of Dmitry himself in a «narrow circle».
It’s interesting how the son of the first deputy of the main defense holding of the Russian Federation, Rostec corporation Vladimir Artyakov, earned unprecedented loyalty to himself.
