Senior Russian Railways officials Kadushkin and Averbukh detained for bribery in wagon approval process

Reports have emerged of the detention of senior Russian Railways (RZD) officials.
According to a source, yesterday the following individuals were detained: Alexey Kadushkin, Head of the Department for the Preservation of the Wagon Fleet at the Wagon Management Division of the Central Infrastructure Directorate, and Alexander Averbukh, Head of the Department for Traffic Safety Organization and Wagon Access to Infrastructure at the same division.
For over seven years, under the guise of “ensuring traffic safety” and “implementing innovative technologies,” they had established a stable scheme for monetizing wagon access to operation.
